John Redshaw, a personal (consumer) buyer from Pennsylvania, describes how he came across Copart. "I was buying cars through someone, and they would have me look at Copart's website, and I didn't even know the public could buy from Copart at first. I found out that they could, and I registered with them and became a Premier [Member]." Copart’s Premier Membership gives Members additional bidding power to place multiple bids on different vehicles at the same time. It also increases Buying Power by allowing Premier Members to bid $5,000 on a vehicle without putting down a $500 deposit ahead of time.

John discusses how Copart makes it easy for personal rebuilders to enjoy their hobby. "I just started buying cars. I just like messing with cars. I probably do seven, eight, nine cars…. I try and average that many a year. Copart made it more feasible for me to buy the vehicles, and it was so easy to go down and buy them."

Now that he knows Copart is open to consumer buyers, he shares Copart with others – especially the possible cost savings. "…I'm super happy. There are some people that come to my house and… I’ll tell them about the website, and I’ll tell them to get on there. If they want to buy, they can register to buy. There [are] a lot of cars on there that [have] very minimal damage. Somebody could buy and redo it themselves and save themselves a bunch of money…. For somebody looking for a car and trying to save some money, it's very feasible to buy from them and repair it yourself. You'd have yourself a good car for half the price."

John’s advice to others? "I became a Premier Member probably two years ago, and that Premier Membership is the way to go. It just made things so much easier at Copart for me to do that."
