In Florida, dealers, dismantlers, general businesses and exporters will need to provide Copart an operational license, a sales tax license and sales tax exemption forms.
The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles issues dealer licenses (Independent Dealer in Motor Vehicles, Dealer in Franchised Motor Vehicles and Wholesale Motor Vehicle Dealer) and the dismantler license (Dealer of Salvaged or Wrecked Motor Vehicles). Auto-related business licenses may be obtained from your local city or county office or the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services – for the Motor Vehicle Repair Registration Certificate.
Don’t forget to submit a signed copy of the Florida Annual Resale Certificate for the current year. This document can be acquired from the Florida Department of Revenue.
