![]() | Buying for personal use in Connecticut?Without business licenses, you will need a Broker's help to bid on clean and salvage titled vehicles in Connecticut.
|
In Connecticut, dealers and dismantlers will need to provide Copart an operational license and a sales tax license for the same physical address, as well as sales tax exemption forms. This applies to general businesses and exporters buying clean titled vehicles too.
The Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles issues dealer, dismantler and business licenses. Dealer licenses include Used Car Dealer and New Car Dealer licenses. A Recycler (Motor Vehicle Junkyard License) is an acceptable dismantler license. And General Repairer and Limited Repairer licenses fall into the business license category. Your local city or county office can set you up with a Business License Certificate, Business Tax Certificate and related items. You’ll need to visit the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services for your Sales and Use Tax Permit.
