Northwest Territories Licensing Requirements

What could be more frustrating than finding that “diamond in the rough” vehicle – and then realizing it requires licenses you don’t have? At Copart, we do our best to give you licensing information up front. So when it comes time to bid and buy, you’re ready to dominate the auction.

Every state and province has unique licensing requirements, depending on the type of buyer and the type of vehicle (clean titled or salvage). Therefore, it’s essential to read up on these stipulations before attempting to bid on anything found on Copart.com.

In the Northwest Territories, dealers, dismantlers, general businesses and exporters will need to provide Copart an operational license and sales tax exemption forms.

Additionally, please complete the following forms and submit them to our Licensing Department via our License Uploader. These documents will be processed within one to two business days of receipt. Click here to watch a tutorial video on how to use the License Uploader.

• Multi-state tax form
• Affidavit for Purchase

Private individuals buying in the Northwest Territories will need to go through a Broker for all clean titled and salvage items, as well as for boats, jet skis and snowmobiles.
